The children sit in a circle and talk about the topic of the previous week.
Divide the group into two equal teams. Each team stands on one side of a line. Mark a “prison area” behind each team — this is where players go when they’re out. The game starts with a ball in the middle. Players throw the ball, trying to hit someone on the other team below the shoulders. If you’re hit, you go to the “prison” behind the opponent’s side. You can get back into the game if: A teammate throws the ball to you in prison and you catch it or you get the ball and hit someone from the other side. The game continues until one team has all players in prison, or until time runs out.
All players spread out in a marked area. One or two players start with a soft ball. The goal is to hit other players with the ball. If you get hit, you sit down one the side. You can get back up if the person who hit you gets hit by someone else or the teacher yells out a "magic word" — then you’re back in the game! Players can’t move while holding the ball.
