Alphabet

Grammatikziele

„How do you spell…?“ fragen, Buchstabe für Buchstabe antworten und „It starts with…“ verwenden. Bei Einzelwörtern und Zwei-Wort-Bausteinen bleiben, die die ganze Gruppe gemeinsam rufen kann.

Handlungsziele

Einen Buchstaben hören und ihn finden, formen oder zu ihm laufen; kurze Wörter in Bewegung laut buchstabieren. Umgesetzt in Alphabet pond und Little circuit with alphabet.

Lexikalische Ziele

Buchstabennamen und -laute auf Englisch sowie die Buchstaben, die man braucht, um den eigenen Vornamen zu buchstabieren.

Alphabet introduction

Introducing the topic: alphabet (1. showing the flashcards, 2. listen to the alphabet song): one teacher shows the kids the flashcards and names the object in the flashcard, the kids repeat. Then one teacher prepares the speaker with the alphabet song and we listen to it and try to sing it all together.

Alphabet pond

After the introduction in a circle ("let's make a circle"), we leave the kids sitting down ("sit down") at their places, and we give one or two kids one stick or one “frite” (foam stick used for swimming) and ask them to stand up and point at the letter and object we ask. Each kid should do it at least once, ideally twice.

Little circuit with alphabet

For this game one teacher leaves the first game a bit early to prepare a small circuit. Once the circuit is ready, we ask the children to form a queue. A teacher demonstrates how to do the circuit. At the end of the circuit another teacher waits for each child and tells them a letter they need to touch. The other teacher stays at the starting line and give each child the signal to go.

Alphabet revision

We listen to the alphabet song together and sing it (from slow to fast, clap your hands and thighs to the rhythm of the sound to make it more playful for the children).
